The Burning Plains
The Burning Plains is a wide expanse of desert on the edge of Surda. It is here that the first major battle of the war between Galbatorix, the Varden and Surda takes place. This is also the location of several other key events, including: Roran's first glimpse of Saphira, and Eragon as a Rider; the Twins death by Roran's hand; Eragon's first duel with Murtagh as an agent of Galbatorix, and Thorns first duel with Saphira.
