Plot/Intro:
DRA (Dragon Riders Anonymous) is an Eragon site for all fans of the Inheritance trilogy by Christopher Paolini. We have an Intermediate RPG set up, which will follow the series, and will cover every major characters thoughts and actions. We have an excellent skin (made for us by Howl) and friendly administrators who are on for at least an two hours a day. Join us and become part of the legend!
PLOT:
The land of Alagaësia has been choking under the shadow of tyranny for hundreds of years now, with a leader more evil than the devil himself…a ruler by the name of Galbatorix, with his mighty black dragon, Shruikan, at his side. Some may say that it makes no difference in the way that the king rules, for on the outside, there has been peace. But there are wars raging within. The lands have split. The elves are no longer seen, disappearing into the forest Du Weldenvarden for solace, ignorant of the bloody war that is taking place outside their own peaceful world. The dwarves have taken refuge in the mighty Beor Mountains to the south, and the glittering scales of dragons are no longer seen.
It was not always like this. There was a time, where keepers of the peace, Dragon Riders, kept the land well. Economy thrived, and all throughout Alagaësia, the lands lived in harmony together. It was only then, during the peak of prosperity, that a young, grief-stricken Rider, named Galbatorix, who had lost his own dragon to the Urgals, recruited another young Rider by the name of Morzan, to steal another dragon hatchling from the Riders.
They went into hiding, and Galbatorix taught Morzan things which should never have been revealed about magic—spells that could make you stronger and more able than anyone else in the world, and that could fulfill all of your desires for power. The Riders searched long and hard for them, but they could not be found, and eventually, all search parties ceased.
Years later, when Galbatorix’s dragon, Shruikan was fully grown, and Morzan’s training completed, they revealed themselves to the world. Together, they fought any Rider they met. Some fought, yes, but others joined the rising powers. The Thirteen Forsworn they were called, and with them Galbatorix took the arrogant Riders, who had grown weary and lazy with their power, down.
Now many years later, with Galbatorix as the only known Rider in existence, only three eggs remain, all in his possession. One as crimson as blood, that shines more brightly then any ruby. The second is that of the brightest green, seeming to carry the very soul of the forests in its polished shell; and the third, a sapphire egg that will change the fortunes for all.
Recently, the Varden, a vast community of rebels has managed to remove one egg from the king's clutches. The egg was placed in the possession of an elf, by the name of Arya. An ambush took place, led by Galbatorix’s greatest servant, a Shade by the name of Durza. She raised the stone above her head, and sent it far, far away, leaving her doomed soul to be dealt with in due time.
And there my friend is where our story begins, in the small town of Carvahall, a city nestled in Palancar Valley, bordering the Spine, where even a young farm boy can make a difference.
